Calling all local sporting clubs! Get your team together and GO FOR GOLD! 🏃♂️🏃♀️💰
As part of the Gympie Gold Rush Festival and our Brown, Macaulay & Warren Gympie Cup race day on Saturday, 24 October, the Gympie Turf Club is excited to launch a brand-new community event — the Ray White Gympie Gold Nugget Relay.
The concept is simple: teams of four go head-to-head in a fun and competitive foot race, with every team proudly representing a local sporting club. There will be two heats, with the top two teams from each heat progressing through to the final to battle it out for the major prize money.
And the best part? Your club gets something back just for taking part! Every registered team will secure a $100 donation for their nominated sporting club. But that’s not all… the top four teams will also have the chance to take home a share of the $2,500 prize pool!
🥇 1st Place – $1,000
🥈 2nd Place – $700
🥉 3rd Place – $500
🏅 4th Place – $300
HOW TO ENTER
- One team per sporting club
- Teams of 4 competitors
- Competitors must be 18 years or older
- Each competitor must run 100m along the Gympie Turf Club sand track holding a gold nugget
- Competitors must represent a Gympie Region sporting club
- No entry fee
- Registrations close Monday, 19 October
- Spots are limited!
All participating team members will receive FREE General Admission and will also have access to a dedicated Competitors Marquee on the BMWCA Gympie Cup day — your team’s base before the big race. The Ray White Gympie Gold Nugget Relay will take place just after 4pm on Saturday October 24.
